What is new in this version of the software
When you update your TelePort 56 software, you get a number of enhancements, some of which include:
- Global Village Status Bar appearance better matches Finder in MacOS 8.x
- The fax quality setting will default to your most recent choice
- New ARA and Open Transport/PPP scripts provide better compatibility and performance
Who should use this updater
Use this updater only if you have a TelePort 56 K56flex modem. It will have a serial number (label on bottom of modem with bar code) prefix of EM or EN. The updater requires that your previous version of TelePort 56 software is installed, and will not install over any other GlobalFax version.
Who should not use this updater
Owners of any other Global Village modems. Note: there is a separate updater for owners of TelePort 56 x2 modems.
You should NOT use this with TelePort 56K V.90 modems that have a serial number (label on bottom of modem with bar code) prefix of TU, TS, SB, SA, or XA.
How to run this updater
- Download the self-extracting file
- Extract the file onto your hard drive, preferably to the Desktop
- Do not move, rename, or copy the folders or files to a floppy disk
- Launch the Installer application
Handling multiple copies of Global Village applications
If the Installer informs you that multiple copies of Global Village applications exist on your hard drive, you should allow the Installer to continue. It will delete duplicates and allow you to use only fully-updated Global Village software, preventing version conflicts. No other files or applications will be deleted -- your existing fax files remain intact.
This installer is for use with Global Village Teleport K56flex Modems only.
