April 1999
Requirements:
TelePort 56K V.90 (ITU Standard) modem owners with GlobalFax 2.6.4 who use a Keyspan USB Serial Adapter on their "Blue and White" G3 Macintosh.
Symptom:
Crash at startup when GlobalFax is installed.
Software update:
This updated TelePort 2.6.4.1 control panel fixes the crashing bug.
This update should not be downloaded for any reason other than to fix the indicated symptom with a TelePort 56K V.90 on a Keyspan adapter. If you don't see this bug, you don't need this update!
If you have any other Global Village modem or GlobalFax version on a B&W G3, this update is not recommended or supported -- the newer TelePort control panel may conflict with your existing GlobalFax software. Global Village is currently working on a maintenance release of GlobalFax for owners of the following modems: TelePort 56K V.90, TelePort 56K x2, TelePort 56K K56flex, TelePort 33.6 Internet Edition, and TelePort Platinum. For information on when the updater will be available, please subscribe to the TelePort info email list by sending a blank email to teleport_info@globalvillage.com with the word Subscribe in the subject header.
Installing the control panel:
Drag the TelePort 2.6.4.1 control panel into your Control Panels folder or on top of your System Folder. The Macintosh will ask you if you want to replace the older TelePort with the one you're moving. Click OK. Restart.
